Margery Sterns was 100 years old when she passed away peacefully at her home in Lafayette, California on September 15, 2022. She was born on July 10, 1922, to Sam and Sophie Gershman in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Predeceased by her parents and five siblings, Harry, Lewis, Morris, Lynn, and Rose, and husband, Donald. Survived by her children, Richard, Robert, and Sandra, her grandchildren, Adam, Samantha, and Sara, and great grandchildren, Nikki, Jonah, Jonathan, Elliot, and Benjamin.
Marge helped manage the family business in Grand Forks and she was a talented tap dancer who performed professionally with top billing over the singer, Peggy Lee. Marge was married in 1945 and she was a stay at home mother. She and her husband were founding families of Temple Isaiah where she worked as a volunteer office manager and calligrapher. With her husband, who was the hospital's first Radiologist, she was a founder of John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, and she served for many years on its board.
