Pamala Dawn Deikel, a lifelong native of the San Francisco Bay Area and longtime resident of Belvedere, passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 80, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.

Pamala was beautiful, inside and out. She possessed an extraordinary sense of style, a vibrant spirit, and a generous heart. Above all, she treasured her family and close friends, holding them at the center of her life.

A respected residential designer and developer, Pamala was known for creating exceptional homes across San Francisco, Marin, and St. Helena with imagination and a distinctive vision.

Pamala expressed her compassion most generously through her philanthropy. She was especially devoted to helping vulnerable newborns and their families, giving a voice to the smallest patients who needed help the most. Her philanthropic legacy includes co-founding the Deikel Family Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at California Pacific Medical Center and helping establish its Neonatal Transport Program, which made specialized, lifesaving care accessible to critically ill babies throughout the region.

While Pamala's professional and philanthropic accomplishments were remarkable, she cherished her role most as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her beloved husband, Ted Deikel; her daughter, Nicole Krohn; and her granddaughters, Katarina and Sienna. Her love for them was immeasurable, and they were the greatest joy of her life.

Pamala will be remembered for her beauty, warmth, creativity, strength, and generosity. She made the world more beautiful through the homes she created, more compassionate through the lives she helped protect, and more loving through her devotion to family and friends. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the beauty and kindness she brought into the world will endure.

Her family and close friends held a private celebration of Pamala's life.
