Marilyn Kamins was born in Brooklyn, New York, the older daughter of parents Theodore and Jean Cohen. After graduating from high school, Marilyn and Isadore Kamins met at a dance, and fell deeply in love. They were wed on December 20, 1947 and remained devoted to one another for life. "Izzy" who passed away, was the love of her life.
In 1964, Marilyn and her immediate family moved to San Francisco, yet she remained close with her sister, Francine, and niece, Doris, for her entire life. She loved spending time with family and was a lifelong reader. In their later years, Marilyn and Izzy took daily walks around Stow Lake, always hand- in- hand.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Kamins; grandchildren, Steven and Michelle Jacobs; sister, Francine Busch (and husband Fred Weinberg); and niece Doris Kornreich (with husband Norman).
In memory of Marilyn, the family requests that donations be made to the Friends of San Francisco Public Library <https://www.friendssfpl.org/> (1630-17th Street, San Francisco, CA 94107).
Marilyn's famous advice to lovers young and old is... "Never go to bed angry."
