Kenneth Ronald Cherry October 4, 1930-May 14, 2023, Resident of Danville

Kenneth (Ken) Ronald Cherry, born on October 4, 1930, passed away on May 14, 2023. Born and raised in Oakland to Arnold and Hattie Cherry, Ken was the youngest among his siblings, Stanley, and Beverley (Mednick)

Upon retiring from the Korean War, Ken met the love of his life, Barbara (Bobbie) Berman. Their connection was so undeniable that after just four dates in 1 week, he proposed and were married 60 years. After Bobbie passed, Ken discovered companionship in the presence of Marilyn Cachapo for the past eight years, as they made memories spending the majority of their time in Lincoln, CA.

After Ken's time in the military, he drove for McKesson & Robbins. In 1973 Ken and his brother Stan opened up the Dublin, CA Big O Tires where he worked for 20 years.

Ken had many pleasures while in Dublin whether selling fireworks, serving many years at the Chamber of Commerce and the Lions Club.

After raising their children in Moraga, they moved to Crow Canyon Country Club in Danville where they spent their time golfing, dancing, playing Bingo, traveling, and enjoying making fond memories with their friends.

Ken loved supporting his favorite teams, Raiders, Niners and the Warriors but his greatest joy was cheering on his children and grandchildren to participate in the many sports they enjoyed to play.

Ken is survived by his children, Bruce (Kathy), Jeff (Lori), and Linda (Michael). He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Jessica (Greg), Lisa, Corrine (Daniel), Jason, Justin (Alicia), and Bryan (Taylor), who were his pride and joy. Additionally, his great-grandchildren, Hunter, Briella, Aria, and Madeline, will carry his love in their hearts as they grow and thrive.

Ken will be remembered by his large smile, charisma, and kind heart. He will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at 10:00 am, Sunday, June 4th at Congregation B'Nai Tikvah, 25 Hillcroft Way, Walnut Creek, CA 94597

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association (Alzheimer's.org) or your favorite charity.
