Residence of Richard Zybert

Richard Zybert, 69, a resident of Berkeley, Ca. , died suddenly on May 10, 2017 of cardiac arrest in his residence.

Richard was born in London, England, 1947 to the late Toni Zybert, holocaust survivor, and the late Zygmunt Zybert, a Polish merchant seaman; and survived by his brother Edmund Zybert and his nephew David Zybert of New York. Richard with his family immigrated to the United States in 1952 to Boston, Massachusetts.

There he attended Boston Latin School, and Boston University; and then School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, earning M.A.. Later he graduated from San Francisco Art Institute, earning an M.A. in Graphic Design.

Richard was a practicing fine artist in San Francisco and later operated Richard Zybert Graphics firm in S.F. Also served as graphics designer for Release Print magazine of the Film Arts Foundation. He later worked for City of Oakland ASSETS senior job program.

Loved and respected in S.F. art community and active in progressive social action focused on serving the needs of his community.
