Annie J. Schwartz Strom long time resident of Oakland died on August 17 at Sutter Alta Bates Hospital in Oakland. Born in Charleston, S.C. to Samuel and Ida Jaffe,
Annie was the eldest sibling of Esther Jaffe Garber (deceased) and Sydney Jaffe, (deceased).
In 1944, Annie married Alvin Strom, USN, and they came to Oakland to join family.
Annie is survived by her four children: Randy, Janet, Mardee, and Shelly, as well as grandchildren: Aaron, Ilana, and Judith and great-granddaughter, Lyanna.
Annie was a great lover of children, her religious traditions, and could be counted on to lend a hand in helping others. She consistently volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul in serving holiday meals and for Hadassah Women's Group.
