John Joseph Nichols

John J. Nichols March 15, 1947- May 7, 2017 Redwood City, CA John was born and raised in the Bay Area and spent most of his childhood in San Francisco. After graduating from Drew College Prep High School and attending the University of Berkeley and Heald College, John spent 20 years as an architect in the Bay Area, building banks for World Savings and the Valco Mall in Cupertino. In the late 1980's, he fell in love with computers and opened a consulting business that he ran for over 20 years while raising his family. He was loved by clients and was often called a computer magician. John was especially proud of his computer business because he was completely self-taught. In the 1990's, with young sons Christopher and Michael, playing baseball in Redwood City, he was the proud President of Highlanders Little League for 4 years. John loved to tell jokes, go to sports games (Go Giants!), and spend time with friends and family. His interests included photography, sports, shopping, movies, music and theatre. He is survived by his family and children: Laurie Nichols, Christopher Nichols, Michael Nichols (Marissa), and Kimberly Hadley (Robert). He was also a loving and proud grandfather of three: Ty, Taylor and Griffin. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 2:30pm at Eternal Home Cemetery in Colma, CA.
