Amo Etlin died peacefully in her sleep on October 16, 2016, at the age of 92. She was born in Denver, Colorado. Her family moved to the Los Angeles area when she was a young child, where she lived most of her life. She was a graduate of UCLA. In 1947, she married Jack Etlin. Together they founded Etlin Realty Company, which was one of the largest residential real estate brokerage firms in the San Fernando Valley during the 1950s and 1960s. They had two sons, who were the joys of her life, along with her grandchildren. She and Jack divorced in 1976. She remained active in the commercial real estate business until well into her 80s. She lived in Malibu for more than 30 years, where she raised her sons. In 2010, she moved to San Francisco to be closer to her son, Craig and his family.

Amo was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Helen Fiul. She is survived by her sons, Craig (Leslie Gordon) and Stuart (Joshua Siebuhr), her brother, Robert Ledeen (Lydia Ledeen), her grandchildren, Cody, Asher and Emily, and many nieces and nephews.

She cherished the many deep and enduring friendships she had throughout her life. All who her knew her will miss her sense of humor, warmth and joie de vivre.

The family is grateful to the staff at Rhoda Goldman Plaza, and her caregivers, Rita, Pilar, Gina and Larisa.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 20 at 4:00 p.m. at Congregation Sherith Israel, 2266 California St., San Francisco.
