Wendy Morgan passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at age 60, in Dublin, California. Her passions included her family (especially grandson Benji), food, photography, restaurants, and Bichon Frises.
Wendy was born on March 4, 1957 in Oceanside, New York, to Shirley and Larry Fischer. She grew up in Wantagh, Long Island, with her younger sister, Diane. Wendy and her family spent their summers at Jones Beach, swimming and eating ice cream during the days, and playing games and eating grilled corn in the evenings. She graduated from Wantagh High School in 1975, where she excelled at the violin. Wendy went on to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1979.
Wendy met Richard Morgan while working at Bloomingdales in Long Island, New York in 1984. It was love at first sight. The two got engaged within weeks of meeting each other, and were married at the Marriott in Uniondale on May 22nd, 1984. Wendy worked at Porter-Cable and Sanrio before giving birth to their only daughter, Amy Denise Morgan, three years later in 1987. She eventually became a full time stay at home mom.
Wendy and Richard raised Amy in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania and Hockessin, Delaware. In 1999, they added Max Morgan, a Bichon Frise to their family. In 2011, Wendy became a mother-in-law when her daughter Amy married Thomas Smith of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2014, Wendy and Richard drove across the country to move to the San Francisco Bay Area, where Amy and Tom now lived. Wendy was thrilled to become a grandmother on April 27th, 2017, when Amy and Tom welcomed their son Benji into the world.
Wendy was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Fischer, and was survived by her mother, Shirley Fischer, who passed away on March 14, 2018. Wendy is survived by her husband: Richard Morgan, her daughter and son-in-law: Amy and Thomas Smith, and her grandson: Benjamin Smith. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law: Diane and Phil Morse, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Helen and Gene Porter, her sister-in-law: Fran Morgan, nieces and nephews: Daniel Morse, Jessica Morse, Kimberly Shay, and Valerie Vieira, and Bichon Frises Jack and Lance.
