Marietta Eve Fulton z"l, beloved daughter of Stella and Desire Rakonitz z"l, born in Budapest, Hungary on September 8, 1932, died peacefully on May 11, 2015 at Stanford Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Marietta was a Holocaust survivor. She fled Hungary in 1939 to Montreal, Canada and moved to San Francisco in 1948. She married Paul Nathan Fulton z"l at age 22, the love of her life, her best friend and also a Holocaust survivor.

Judaism was a way of life for our mother; they immediately joined Congregation Beth Jacob and she became an active life long member. Marietta was past president of the sisterhood and was on the religious school and curricular committees at the time of her death. Our mother had beautiful Shabbat dinners for us when we were growing up.

Marietta graduated from UC Berkeley with an education degree. She loved children and taught at Belle Haven Elementary School for 40 years. Marietta also loved going to Lake Tahoe where family often congregated, along with the opera, symphony and plays.

Marietta is survived by her daughter's, Joy (David) Stiefel and Lynn (Jeff) Kurn. Marietta and Paul raised Ruth (Robert) Donig-White and Reuben (Vivienne) Donig from when they were young, after their parents died. Grandma Mokush is survived by her grandchildren, Jason, Nathan, Martin (Caryn), William, Victor, Elyssa (Omri), Deborah, Jessica, Mark and great grandchildren Mia and Nolan.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Congregation Beth Jacob, 1550 Alameda de las Pulgas, Redwood City with burial following at Hills of Eternity Memorial Park, Colma.
